History

The Town of Stantonsburg was established well over 100 years ago. The town has seen plenty of change over the past millennium. At the beginning of the century, the town enjoyed the economic benefits associated with the location of a rail line right through the center of town. At the end of the century, the town became one of the first municipalitiees in the United States to access the competitive wholesale power markets and significantly cut retail electric costs to its citizens. The Stantonsburg municipal government is a proud town with a strong local government that is not afraid to take a risk and work hard to better the lives of its citizens.


Location

The Town of Stantonsburg is located in Wilson County, NC, very close to I-95. The town has excellent water and sewer capabilities, rail access, and natural gas can be obtained in most parts of the town. Below is a general map of Stantonsburg’s location.


Demographics

The Town of Stantonsburg and the surrounding area offers a variety of workforce skills to interested manufacturers. The workforce in Wilson County has a good history of providing skilled workers for manufacturing facilities in the county.
