History

The Town of Black Creek was established in 1875. Black Creek is truly a southern charm city that values its culture and educational opportunities for all. As an example, Black Creek has restored an old farmhouse in the center of town as a reminder to all of life in Eastern North Carolina in the 1800's. Black Creek also has a relatively large town library that also houses meetings for various civic groups. The mayor of Black Creek, Mr. Ralph Smith, has been mayor for close to 40 years and provides stable and even-handed leadership to this proud town.


Location

The Town of Black Creek is located in Wilson County, NC, very close to the NC 264 bypass around the City of Wilson and within a short driving distance to I-95. Black Creek is a 5-minute drive to Wilson, NC and only a one-hour drive to Raleigh. The town has excellent water and sewer capabilities, rail access, and a strong and diverse workforce. Demographics

The Town of Black Creek and the surrounding area offers a variety of workforce skills to interested manufacturers. The workforce in Wilson County has a good history of providing skilled workers for manufacturing facilities in the county. Other manufacturing facilities in the county include Bridgestone-Firestone, Ball-Foster Glass, and several pharmaceutical companies.
